I just have release a new OSR product:
Gregorius21778: 50 Elixirs for “classic” RPG
…and as a special goodie for my dear followers, the first ten people to use this link till the end of the year can buy it for $0.50 instead of $0.75
We are talking “high fantasy with a weird twist” here, as all of the potions have a rather strange effect and/or drawback.
For those who like to buy things in bundles I created a new one with this product, too!
Gregorius21778: Swords, Elixirs and Curses contains my new product plus 30 Magical Weapons and 50 Curses, all for a reduced price.
Please remember that you never need to buy a product twice: if you own something that is part of the bundle, drivethrurpg.com will automatically reduce the bundle price accordingly.
That´s all from me for now, have a nice day!
I stumbled upon a (new) trailer for the Kong: Skull Island movie on the blog of Eric F. To be honest, if it would not be for Eric this movie would have been completely off my radar by now. Here in Germany, I have not seen any trailer for it so far. But hey, that is what the internet is for: to learn about things the companies currently do not care to advertise in your country.
The movie itself looks like a simple popcorn-, monster- and SFX-movie. The trailer already shows that it is going to cater to the oh-so-”kewl” 3D technology, like a lot of other movies before. As I am not part of the 3D-fan-crowd, I hope they don´t overdue it. I like kaiju movies and this one could be worthwhile. So, they should not have spilled the beans about “the other monster” (or, monsters) in this trailer. I would have loved the surprise.
The leader of the Fungal Cave Clan uses drug that is created out of a white mushroom to make people more vurnerable to his mental powers, so that he can turn them into White Mushroom Zombies. These drug-addled, hypnotized wretches shamble through the caverns and harvest the fungus. During their work they get in contact with and are poisoned by the spores of harmful fungus. They end up addicted, ill, infected and some even mutate. But all in all, their miserable live ends within one or three years.
…serve the master…
…do not resist….
Push Limit: 0
Attack: Bare hands or tools (improvised weapon; 1d6)
Skills: None are left that are worth mentioning
Drug-addled: A White Mushroom Zombie gets a Handicap to each and every action.
Conditioned: The mind of White Mushroom Zombie is completely repressed. They don´t remember anything and they don´t respond to anything but the voice of their master (the clan leader) or to those that touch them and yell at them or force them to act in a certain way. They won´t even defend themselves unless ordered to fight. If this conditioning is not re-inforced every other day (by the clan leader using his third eye on the Mushroom Zombie), it will break down after 1d6+1 days.
Addicted: The White Mushroom Zombies are utterly addicted to the unique spores of the Fungal Caves. If they are removed from the caverns they will enter a state similar to cold withdrawal within 2d6 hours. The withdrawal takes about three day, and each day the character must test for Strength [SC:20]. Success means 1d6 points of Stress, Failure means 1d12 points of Stress. This Stress Damage does not heal until the withdrawal stops (either because the character is through it or gets another does).
Sick: The majority of the spores are unhealthy and the Mushroom Zombies continued exposure left them sick. Each month the a Mushroom Zombie must succeed on a test for Strength (SC:10). On a failure, the characters Body stat is permanently reduced by one. The sickness cannot be cured as long as the character is exposed to the fungus of the cave regularly (as happens during the harvest). Otherwise, the sickness is cured after three successful tests in a row.
it has been a while since my last [SHA]-update, but not since my last release. Some of the news in here might thereby be old news to you. But we can will never know unless we try to find out!
Since my last update I released Gregorius21778:99 Names for Post-Apocalyptic Settlements. As a stand-alone product, this title provides you a main table with 99 names and a sub table with 20 prefix/suffix to add to the name. The tables were written with an apocalypse in mind that was not more than a generation ago, so that the survivors who named the settlements still remembered the world as it was. Together with Gregorius21778: 100 Names for Post-Apocalyptic Tribes it forms the Post-Apocalyptic Names [Bundle] (for $1.00). Add the pay-what-you-want Gregorius21778:99 Names for Roadwarrior Vehicles, and you should have a lot of your post-apocalypse covered!
But I was not only putting down names recently. Out of the blue, I was kissed by a muse that told me to create 25 Possible Side-Effects of Cryostasis. She did not told me why and what for, but I am a sucker for inspiration, and who is to resist the sweet kiss of a muse? As the product looked a little lost after it was finished, I bundled it up with Gregorius21778: 30 malfunctions for suits of powered armor and Gregorius21778:Failed Fallout Shelters to create the Failed Future 001 [Bundle]. It is an odd mix for sure, but might be a good set for those who would like to have a game about bio-engineered and cryo-stored future warriors that are re-awakend a little to late by their A.I (after the war is already over and everybody lost) and now have to find themselves a place in a post-apocalyptic future. If somebody follows this notion, having 100 Names for Android and Other Artificial Beings or 20 Malfunctions for Futuristic Energy Weapons might become handy, too (both are pwyw).
As you see, I sometimes really don´t know -what- I am exactly writing for, but as long as -you- find something to use it for, it was worth it. =)
That´s all from me for now, have a nice day!
Everybody knows that the boat is leaking
Everybody knows that the captain lied
Everybody got this broken feeling
Like their father or their dog just died
Everybody is talking to their pockets
Everybody wants a box of chocolates
And a long-stem rose
[Leonard Cohen – Everybody Knows Lyrics] | MetroLyrics
I hope you’re feeling happy now
I see you feel no pain at all it seems
I wonder what you’re doin’ now
